About Dann's Fishing
Steve grew up in the Finger Lakes fishing those cold water species then migrated to the west coast where he met Eileen who spent her life fishing trout with her Dad up in the Sierras. Together they fished all around the world, including Wyoming, Alaska, Baja California, Costa Rice, and Northern Ontario Canada to name a few, fishing for bass, stripers, trout, salmon, tarpon, walley, pike, big tuna and everything in between. After having their two kids, Mitchell and Maia they continued their fishing and outdoor adventures typically a little closer to home. Over the years the Danns went through a periods of fishing in the bass boat to kayak fishing in the Ocean as well as long range saltwater trips in search of tuna, and yellowtail. When the kids entered adulthood Southern Utah was calling and they migrated to Apple Valley. They moved to Utah because the scenery and outdoor life is epic, but the big surprise was the quality of fishing in the area. The Danns were a bit frustrated at the lack of tackle options in the St George area and decided to open a real tackle shop to give locals and tourists what they need to be successful in these highly nutrient rich lakes, creeks and rivers.

Dann's Fishing has a huge bass selection with baits not found anywhere else in southern UT. We import Japanee rare baits, have the newest innovative brands and classic favorites. We try to focus on the baits that currently work in our area, and this is always a moving target. We even have an entire section dedicated to Stripers for the Lake Powell enthusiests.

We carry all the traditional lures and dough baits as well as other brands like Trout Magnet, and Hook Up Baits, that are new to the area but super-effective. We also carry pan fish lures, nightcrawlers and meal worms for those trying to land the trophy Crappie or Bluegill. Stay tuned for our upcoming fly offering where we will be carrying flies that ar specific to our unique ecosystem to take the guessing out of what to on the end of your tippet.

As avid saltwater anglers we experienced frustration preparing for trips to the Pacific so we decided to carry targeted jigs, metered braid, Graftech and Shimano saltwater rods along with matching reels for night jigging, live bait fishing, yo-yoing, surface iron fishing or bass fishing. Everything in our salt water selecion is tested by us, and will help make your Pacific trips fruitful.
